Abroad she formed friendships with Italian students, sparking a fascination with Italian culture that lighted up her interest in studying the language in Rome. For Elin, Rome is not just a city, it represents a community she wants to integrate into, a space where she can build a life, meet new people, and continue growing through shared experiences.
Yet Norway remains a central anchor in her life. Returning home provides comfort, stability, and the ability to reflect on her personal growth. Each visit reminds her how much richer her experiences abroad have made her, even as she appreciates the sense of calm her homeland provides.
