Attack on Ranucci provokes sympathy from all sides

1️⃣ Widespread condemnation of the attack on Ranucci

Leaders from the political parties on the centre-left and the centre-right denounced the assault suffered by journalist Sigfrido Ranucci, whose car was bombed during the night, as a threat to democracy. Italian president Mattarella strongly condemned the attack.

An arrest warrant for Paolo Passarello (34) for the attempted murder of his ex-girlfriend (33) in in Canicattini Bagni has been acted on in recent hours. However it was only technical invocation, according to his solicitor as he could not be brought to court do to his hand injury.

Italian Supreme Court has rejected the appeal filed by the defense, making the custodial sentence for Maria Concetta Riina—daughter of the mafia boss Totò Riina—official.
