2️⃣ Search continues for two missing climbers in Nepal
Authorities are still searching for two climbers missing after avalanches bombarded the Himalayan mountains, although one of them still has an active GPS. Avalanches in the Himalayas killed two Italian mountain climbers on Friday and three on Monday, while seven have died in total. The Italian Consulate General in Calcutta has gone to Kathmandu to aid in the search and is working with the Italian Foreign Ministry.

Elly Schlein, leader of the Democratic Party, called it “a wonderful awakening,” and Nicola Fratoianni of the Alleanza Verdi e Sinistra party said he is “a ray of light in Trump’s darkness.” On the other hand, Vice President of the Council of Ministers Matteo Salvini criticized him as “Islamic, pro-Palestinian, and pro-gender,” while Minister for Relations with Parliament Luca Ciriani said he was not concerned for right-wing U.S. President Donald Trump.

6️⃣ Pifferi sentence reduced to 24 years
Alessia Pifferi’s hearing on Nov. 5 changed her sentence after she was previously given life in prison. Pifferi was found guilty of second-degree murder in a Milan court for starving her 18-month-old daughter. Prosecutors had requested the courts confirm her life sentence, but the sentence was lowered after defence argued Pifferi was not mentally sound.

Carabinieri arrested two 19-year-olds and a 24-year-old on a pre-trial detention order in Tivoli. The three, along with other unidentified people, attacked and killed Stefano Cena, who worked as a carnival operator, on Oct. 5. Cena later died Oct. 14.

8️⃣ Wife warns of justice at funeral for policeman killed in hit-and-run
During services at the ADI Evangelical Church in Naples for Aniello Scarpati, his wife said in her eulogy that “whoever killed him will pay.” Scarpati died Nov. 1 after he was hit by an SUV while driving his police car on duty. His funeral was attended by many political and law enforcement officials, including Italian Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi and Chief of Police Vittorio Pisani.

9️⃣ Demands for more flexible sustainability goals answered
At the EU 2040 climate meeting, the European Union conceded to some of Italy’s demands to compromise over climate initiatives ahead of the COP30 UN summit. The deal includes an increase in carbon credits, despite Europe’s deal to cut greenhouse gas emissions by 90 percent of 1990s levels by 2040. Italy had said the EU’s sustainability goals were harming the economy.

🔟 Ex Formula 1 driver and sports commentator dies at 84
Andrea de Adamich passed away on Nov. 5. He raced in five seasons of Formula One and drove for Ferrari, McLaren, March, Surtees and Brabham. He also won two European Touring Car Championships in the 1960s before becoming a race car commentator. His popularity grew among viewers, and in 2022, he was made Commander of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic.
