Financial Times: China will win the AI race with the United States
According to Jensen Huang, chief executive of major AI company Nvidia, China will be ahead of the United States with regards to AI due to lower energy costs and looser regulations. This comes after Trump has banned Nvidia from selling its most advanced chips to Beijing. Meanwhile France has suspended Shein following the sale of childlike sex dolls on their website. Prosecutors are opening an investigation into the sale and distribution of these dolls.

The left has experiences a substantial win in the Mayoral elections especially with the election of Zohran Mamdani in New York but also the election of the more centrist former Abigail Spanberger in Virginia. It is yet to be decided who will be the best personification of the Democratic party. Furthermore, a group of democrats in the senate are considering voting to end what has become the longest government shutdown in the history of the United States.
The Japan Times: Bear Problem in Akita worsen
The military had been sent out to tackle the bear problem in Akita earlier in the week, however the situation has not improved. They are still not permitted to cull the bears and the weapon they carry would not be sufficient to do. The focus is on intimidating the bears by using shields or using bear sprays.
