CEO of top Italian car producer resigns

The reasons behind the resignation of Carlos Tavares, CEO of Stellantis since 2021, are reportedly internal disagreements. Unions, expressing concern, are calling for a shift in the company’s employment policies.

Intesa Sanpaolo servers crash

Online accounts and the bank’s app are down, leaving users unable to carry out transactions. Intesa Sanpaolo has stated that it is already working to resolve the technical issues and is aware of the cause of the malfunction, attributed to excessively high server traffic. “The issue is being resolved,” the bank assures, as reports on Downdetector continue to rise.

Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs goes to Cairo for diplomatic meeting

Antonio Tajani is in Cairo for a conference to support and strengthen the Humanitarian response on the Gaza Strip. He landed on 1 December with a Cargo plane distributing free food products offered by Coldiretti. He expressed that : “It’s impossible to do reconstruction in Gaza before we must ensure survival”.

Weapons and ammunition discovered in Palermo

A man has been detained for the supposed illicit possession of 14 firearms, gun parts and related ammunition. The suspect was being followed for days by the Guardia di Finanza, as he was considered in connection with recent episodes of shootings in the Sicilian city of Palermo and other suspect situations involving criminals. The seizure is one of the biggest carried out in the city in recent years.

Old women foil scams with Carabinieri’s guidance

Two women, aged 90 and 70, successfully thwarted scams by three suspected con artists aged between 20 and 40, through alerts to the law enforcement after suspect phone calls. The women applied the lessons learned from the Carabinieri’s awareness campaigns aimed at combating phone scams targeting the elderly. The fraudsters were using schemes known as the “fake grandchild” and the “fake Carabinieri” tricks.

Fiorentina player suffers a medical emergency during match

In the seventeenth minute, 22-year-old football midfielder Edoardo Bove collapsed on the field, struck by an unknown ailment. He was taken to the hospital by ambulance, where he regained consciousness. The match was suspended and postponed indefinitely. The cause of the incident remains unknown, but doctors have ruled out damage to the central nervous system.

Sanremo 2025 contestants announced

The number of singers increases from 24 to 30, as announced by Carlo Conti, the artistic director of the 75th edition of Sanremo music festival. Among the competing artists are past participants, including Francesco Gabbani, a two-time festival winner, as well as rappers Fedez and Tony Effe, who had public musical disputes. Also competing are veteran performers such as Marcella Bella and Massimo Ranieri.
