“I enjoy reading biographies because it represents a way to get into the minds of other people. It is especially interesting when their points of view are different from my own”.
Even though Davide does not practice yoga, meditation or other spiritual activities on a regular basis, he is fascinated by the mentality that accompanies a spiritual journey. His favourite book at the moment is written by Tiziano Terzani, an Italian journalist with a spiritual soul, who spent a part of his life in India and Himalaya. Once Terzani was diagnosed with cancer and informed that his remaining time was scarce, he tells his son to ask him all the questions he wanted answered. Their two-month long conversation was later transformed into the book La fine è il mio inizio, written by the son.
Apart from understanding people, mindsets and cultures through books, Davide elaborates on his passion for travelling as a way to broaden the mind. His favourite destination so far is South East Asia. “I am eager to go back one day, but next time I prefer to travel by myself”. He believes it is easier to absorb unfamiliar surroundings without the company of someone you know very well.
Slightly hesitating, Davide reveals one of his ambitions; “I dream of one day working as a travel writer”.
Perhaps the surroundings of his upbringing have impacted his interest for history and literature. Born and raised in Rome, he happened to always attend schools situated next to some of the most famous and historical monuments in Rome. His elementary school was a stone’s throw away of the Pantheon and his middle and high school offered panoramic views of Colosseum.

However, it could be the case that the breathtaking views of the eternal city required too much attention of the adolescent. “I was never the best student with the highest grades”. Nevertheless, he completed a bachelor’s degree in economics and decided to pursue a master’s degree in digital marketing. Shortly after completing the master’s degree, he started to work in a media monitoring company and gained valuable insight into how news flows between media sources. With this experience, his enthusiasm and interest for journalism grew and became clearer.
Not long ago Davide decided to challenge his fear of heights by starting to learn skydiving and obtain a recognised certification. “I am very impulsive, and I have periods in which I dedicate all my time and energy to one specific thing”. Furthermore, he passionately elaborates on the importance of carrying one’s insecurities with confidence. “The more you hide them, the more hurt you will get when someone finds out about them”.
He describes his energy level in a black and white dimension. “Either my energy level is 100% and I want to do a lot of things, or my energy level is low and there are few things I get done.”. However, it becomes clear that sport is an important part of his everyday life. He has always been active, practising everything from tennis and football to climbing and swimming. On a free day he would definitely make room for a variety of physical activities; waking up early to workout, going climbing, running or for a walk in the city.
Davide is excited about the time to come at Luiss. He is ready to face the studies with curiosity and broaden his knowledge of journalism and communication.
