Carabinieri detained municipal staff after council conspiracy

Andrea Ceffa, mayor of the Lombard town in the province of Pavia, has been arrested for corruption. Carabinieri also detained a councilor and three municipal services executives. The incident is linked to the “Sant’Andrea Conspiracy” from 2022, when municipal staff resigned to overthrow the Vigevano city council, some allegedly for payment. Also involved were a former Member of European Parliament and a construction entrepreneur.

Gino Cecchettin denounces disrespect during the trial for his daughter’s femicide

“I felt offended and Giulia’s memory was insulted”, Cecchettin wrote on social media following the November 26 trial of Filippo Turetta, his daughter’s killer. During the hearing, Turetta’s lawyer tried to defend him from life sentence’s aggravating circumstances, in particular that of premeditation. Cecchettin stated that being defended is an inviolable right, but it should not cross common sense and human respect.

Unrest in the Corvetto district over death of Ramy Elgaml

The outskirts of Milan are engulfed in protests, barricades, and fires following the death of a 19-year-old during a scooter chase involving the Carabinieri. Both the scooter’s driver and the Carabinieri officer driving the patrol car are under investigation. Interior Minister Piantedosi is expected to visit the Corvetto district on November 28th for a meeting at the Prefecture.

7-year-old girl falls from window, mother commits suicide

The circumstances surrounding the event are still under investigation. The girl, who lived with her 30-year-old mother in a foster home, is now in critical condition. The incident occurred on November 27 in the province of Catanzaro, Calabria. Shortly after arriving at the hospital, the mother jumped from the fifth floor, dying instantly.
