Nationwide strike today in Italy
Zeta Italy News. Public transport, schools, healthcare workers, and RAI journalists are halting services on December 13, with demonstrations in Milan and Rome. City transport (buses, metro, and trains) and maritime services are suspended for 24 hours, observing protected time slots. Taxis are also joining the protest. “It will be chaos,” commented the Minister of Public Transport, Matteo Salvini.
Students protest in Turin
Several hundred high school and college students began a protest against the government and the war on the morning of December 13. They clashed with police officers at the Polytechnic’s back entrance, throwing eggs and stones. The police responded with batons, blocking one protester. The demonstration was unannounced and the route had not been arranged with the authorities.

Final G7 meeting under Italy’s presidency
The remote conference was called by Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni as the concluding summit of Italy’s presidency of the Group. In a conversation with Canadian President Trudeau on December 11, Meloni expressed Italy’s support for Canada, which will take over the presidency in 2025.
