Police Officers Struck by Car During Survey
Three police officers, two women and a man, were hit by a car while they were conducting a roadside survey for an incident in via Tiburtina in Rome. They were immediately transported to the hospital. The man, a 25-year-old officer, lost his leg while the women were still in the intensive care unit. Driving the car was an off-duty Carabiniere who tested positive for alcohol.
Arrests in the 2010 Murder of Angelo Vassallo, “The Fisherman Mayor”
Four suspects have been arrested in the murder of Angelo Vassallo, the mayor of Pollica, near Salerno, in southern Italy’s Campania region, who was killed on September 5, 2010. Among those detained are Carabinieri’s officer Fabio Cagnazzo, businessman Giuseppe Cipriano, ex-brigadier Lazzaro Cioffi, and Romolo Ridosso, linked to the Scafati crime clan. Six militaries accused of unintentional plural homicide
